Our organization is dedicated to advancing student awareness of Manufacturing and Engineering. This site is designed to provide current SME members, and those interested in becoming members of our organization with extensive information on the manufacturing field.

1st Meeting

Howdy! Thursday, September 9, we will have our first general meeting of the semester. This will be a "meet and greet" meeting for new and returning members. We will discuss what we have planned for the upcomming semester, events, project, future guest speakers and tours. Guest speaker Bill Reidler of Oil States International will also be in attendance.

Make sure you come and check it out!

Safety Sale

SME will be selling ENTC and IDIS approved safety glasses and welding gloves.

Glasses:                        - $6 /ea
Women/Men gloves:     - $9 /pair

FE Workshop

SME will be hosting a FE Exam workshop. Jeremy Cain from Cameron Industries will come teach us how to prepare for this exam. Over 90% of the people that followed his workshop passed the FE. If you are serious about your future and are interested in taking the FE, than you don't want to miss this. This is for members only so if yo have not joined yet, please do so. Food will be provided

Domino Project

Our semester(s) project is to create custom dominos out of aluminum bars. The project is lead by Luis Larraga, as well as Safety Sale Chair, Wing-Lam Chan.  [more…]
